As your local hearing specialist we offer a diverse range of services. Kara has over 20 years experience in the industry, and has worked both within the NHS, education and private sectors. She trained as an Hearing Therapist as well as an Audiologist. "The two roles compliment each other" Kara explains. "I can treat my patients holistically, combining rehabilitation and support, alongside my diagnostic and hearing aid expertise, enabling me to provide tailored care plans to meet my patient's needs." Prior to this, Kara worked as as a British Sign Language Interpreter and Deafblind communicator, giving her a unique insight into the Deaf Community and Deaf Culture. |

We offer a comprehensive wax removal service using medical grade equipment. Kara is trained in Microsuction, Water Irrigation and Manual Extraction. The consultation includes video otoscopy before and after the procedure, and a complimentary hearing screen. The hearing screen gives an overview of the hearing pathway, beyond the ear drum, to ascertain if further investigation is recommended. We are independent! As an independent we have access to technology from multiple manufacturers, thus enabling us to find the right solution for you. We offer a variety of styles and colours in hearing aids and also have access to hearing devices for complex hearing loss. Caring for your hearing aids We offer ongoing comprehensive After Care for our hearing aid clients Once you have invested in your hearing aid technology, we will continue to look after you and your hearing aids. We provide dedicated ongoing support, and we are on demand to you! What does this mean? Once fitted with your new aids, we see you every week or so, to support you through the process of adapting to your new hearing aids. Once you are feeling confident with your hearing aids, we then offer you an appointment every 6 months. However, you are able to contact us at any time. We are on demand for you, so if you need an appointment just get in touch. Purchased your hearing aids elsewhere? We are happy to offer you support with your existing technology. If you are looking for a new audiologist or clinic to support you and your hearing aids, we are happy to welcome you to K and M Hearing Solutions. In order to begin the process, book a Performance Review so that we can evaluate the performance of your aids, complete a thorough diagnostic and optimise your hearing aid performance to give you the best possible sound (that your aids are capable of providing) for your prescription. What happens next? We will go through our Beyond Aftercare Package options with you, to enable us to continue caring for you and your aids over the years. The Beyond Aftercare Packages are an affordable monthly subscription service for your continued care. Hearing Protection We offer a range of hearing protection both for within the work place, and for personal use to protect you while you enjoy your hobbies. Tinnitus Consultations As a Senior Hearing Therapist, Kara specialises in supporting her patients with their Tinnitus. We offer Tinnitus Consultations, which includes a full hearing diagnostic, Tinnitus Pitch Match Testing and the use of clinical questionnaires to evaluate the severity of your tinnitus. Kara will discuss your results, and explain the Neurophysiological Model of Tinnitus with you. This will give you a better understanding of your tinnitus, and how we can become stuck in a negative cycle of fixating on it. Kara will also discuss a personalised management plan to achieve habituation, and break through this negative cycle. The management plan may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and/or Specialist Hearing Aids with Tinnitus Features. |
Supporting ENT Clinics
We also support the private Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic at the Duchy Hospital, providing hearing diagnostics, including tympanometry, for Mr Tan and Mrs Lambert. We email the diagnostic reports directly to their secretaries which ensures a seamless and efficient service, beneficial to our patients. Should Mr Tan or Mrs Lambert advise you need a hearing diagnostic, you can book directly online or call us
Additionally, if you have not been seen by ENT and require an onward referral, we can send medical referrals to your GP with a copy of your hearing report, recommending an onward referral to ENT on the NHS. For immediate access, we can also refer directly to Mr Tan and Mrs Lambert to be seen privately

It is estimated that 1 in 5 of the population of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly live with some form of hearing loss - and numbers continue to grow Hearing Loss Cornwall is a long established Cornish charity promoting inclusion and deaf awareness across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The charity provides information, advice, training and communication support, including British Sign Language interpretation services Whether you are profoundly deaf or living with hearing loss, Hearing Loss Cornwall offers support and advice on the services which are most relevant to you.
