Nuance Audio Glasses: Review

10/8/2025

Are Nuance Audio Glasses really that good?! In this review, our head audiologist, Kara Butterworth, evaluates Nuance Audio Glasses alongside real-world feedback from a K&M client. We look at how these rechargeable glasses can offer subtle hearing support in daily life, where they shine, and when a different solution may be better.

What Nuance Audio Glasses are (and arent)

Nuance Audio Glasses are over-the-counter (OTC) hearing support, built into a pair of everyday frames. They are not a medical hearing aid or a substitute for a clinical diagnosis. Think of them as a convenient, always-with-you option for mild listening difficulties, casual/social settings, and tech-curious users who want help without wearing traditional devices.

Key points at a glance
  • Rechargeable via a charging pad
  • Up to 8 hours of typical use per charge
  • Discreet, eyewear-first design (no in-ear occlusion)
  • App-guided setup and adjustments
  • Works best for mild difficulties and situational use

We recommend booking a basic hearing test with us to confirm suitability and set expectations. (We’ll demonstrate the glasses and app in-clinic so you leave confident using them.)

Who They Help

Based on the companies recommendations and our clinic experience, Nuance Audio Glasses are best suited to:
  • People with mild hearing challenges who don’t want hearing aids (yet)
  • Users who struggle in restaurants, shops, meetings, or while watching TV
  • Those wanting hands-off, “always-with-you” support without earbud fatigue
  • Some users with normal audiograms but real-world difficulty in noise

K&M Hearing Solutions Head Audiologist’s Review

"I was really keen to add Nuance glasses to my portfolio. I believe in offering my patients choice and being able to offer a dedicated personalised solution. Where do Nuance glasses fit into this? These glasses are a great option for anyone struggling in noise but may not want to pursue or be suitable for hearing aids at this time. They are discreet and easy to use. I recently fitted a pair of these glasses to a lovely customer who proudly told me she was 87 years old. She has fibromyalgia which affects the nerves. She had tried traditional hearing aids but they physically hurt her ear canals due to her condition and therefore couldn't tolerate hearing aids. I was so pleased I could help. The glasses have given this delightful lady a new lease of life and she can hear well again." Kara Butterworth

Pros and considerations

Pros
  • Discreet everyday support in a familiar form factor
  • Comfortable for those who dislike in-ear devices
  • App-guided setup with simple charging routine
  • Useful for mild needs and situational listening

Considerations
  • Not a hearing aid, not suitable for moderate–severe hearing loss
  • Performance in very noisy places is limited vs. medical hearing aids
  • Style and fit options may influence comfort/acceptance, why not try on in our clinic?
  • Battery management becomes part of the routine, 8hrs battery life means charging daily

FAQs

Do I need a hearing test first?
We highly recommend a basic hearing check to confirm suitability, rule out wax or other ear health issues, help educate users and set realistic goals.

Will they help in restaurants and busy cafés?
They can help in moderate noise. In very loud settings, medical hearing aids with dedicated noise management may perform better.

How long does the battery last?
Up to 8 hours of typical use per full charge. Many users charge overnight on the included charging pad.

Are they waterproof?
Treat them like normal eyewear with electronics, avoid water exposure and heavy rain. Quickly wipe dry if they get damp and consult the user guide for extra care tips.

Can I use them with my prescription lenses?
Ask us about the current frame and lens options. The Nuance Audio Glasses come with non prescription Transition Lenses as standard. However you can take the glasses to an optician of your choice, who can provide lenses from Essilor*

Try Nuance Audio Glasses at K&M Hearing Solutions

We’ll check your hearing, demonstrate the charging pad and app, and help you decide if Nuance suits your goals. As part of our expert audiology services in Cornwall, we’ll also discuss alternatives (e.g., hearing aids, auditory training) if they’re a better fit for your personal needs.
