Celebrating Two Years of K&M Hearing Solutions in Truro

This month marks a special milestone for K&M Hearing Solutions as we celebrate two years of caring for hearing health in Truro. What began as a small independent clinic with a clear vision has grown into a trusted local service supporting people across Cornwall with all aspects of hearing care.

Opening the clinic was driven by a simple belief: hearing care should be personal, unrushed, and centred around the individual. Over the past two years, we’ve welcomed people from Truro and surrounding areas, each with their own concerns, questions, and experiences. Being part of those journeys to better hearing has been the most rewarding part of what we do.

A Community-Focused Approach to Hearing Care

From the very beginning, the practice was created to offer something different. As an independent clinic, we’re able to take the time to listen properly, explain results clearly, and tailor care to each person’s needs. There’s no “one size fits all” approach to hearing, and we believe people deserve honest advice and ongoing support they can trust.

Since opening our doors, we’ve supported patients with hearing tests, the latest hearing aids, tinnitus consultations, earwax removal, and long-term aftercare. For many people, their first visit comes with uncertainty or worry. Seeing that turn into reassurance, confidence, and improved quality of life is what makes our work so meaningful.

Specialist Care Built on Experience

K&M Hearing Solutions is led by Kara Butterworth, a highly experienced audiologist and hearing therapist with over 20 years in hearing healthcare, including extensive NHS experience supporting ENT clinics. Kara is fully registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is an active member of leading professional bodies including the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists (BSHAA), the British Academy of Audiology, and the Association of Independent Hearing Healthcare Professionals (AIHHP). The clinic is also proud to be an FSB member and works in partnership with recognised organisations including Bupa, ensuring high standards of clinical care, professionalism, and governance.

We’re particularly proud of the specialist tinnitus care we offer. Kara has supported patients with tinnitus for over two decades and K&M Hearing Solutions is a corporate member of Tinnitus UK, reflecting our commitment to evidence-based tinnitus management. We also partner with Oto to provide access to structured cognitive behavioural therapy programmes, and offer advanced auditory support through LACE AI Pro, where appropriate. Over the past two years, we’ve helped many patients better understand their tinnitus and manage it more effectively through personalised care plans, counselling, sound therapy, and ongoing professional support.
