 We Smashed Our Target!

We raised a total of £780!!!

A Huge Thank you to you All

Picture
We’re absolutely delighted to share that our recent afternoon tea fundraiser raised an amazing £190, which has now been added to our JustGiving page in support of Breast Cancer Now – bringing our grand total to £780! We honestly couldn’t have imagined such an incredible response when we first planned the event, and it’s all thanks to our wonderful clients.
Your generosity, support, and kind-hearted donations have made a real difference, and we’re so grateful to everyone who came along, contributed, or simply helped spread the word. Every penny raised goes directly to Breast Cancer Now, helping fund life-changing research and support. Thank you – we couldn’t have done it without you!
The turnout on the day was beyond anything we expected – it was standing room only! The room was buzzing with laughter, conversation, and a real sense of community. It was a joy to see so many people come together for such an important cause. A special thanks to Lionel the Town Crier and his wife Carol, who joined us and even tried to make a dent in Crumbz’s famous three-tier cakes!
A huge thank you must also go to Paul and Linda Taylor, who many of you will have seen helping to run the very busy afternoon tea. I think Paul even popped out at one point to grab more napkins! The afternoon would have been very different if they hadn’t dropped everything to come to our rescue – we are truly indebted to them.
We were also joined by Kayley Jayne, who offers specialist tattooing services that can support cancer patients in their recovery. You can reach her at:

Double chocolate muffins

Picture
Ingredients:
  • 250g plain flour (spooned and levelled)
  • 200g caster sugar
  • 40g unsweetened cocoa powder (natural, not Dutch-processed)
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • ½ tsp fine salt
  • 315g dark or milk chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 185g full-fat sour cream or natural Greek-style yogurt (room temperature)
  • 120ml vegetable oil (or sunflower oil)
  • 120ml whole milk (room temperature)
  • 1½ tsp vanilla extract
Method:
  • Preheat your oven to 220°C (fan 200°C) / 425°F / Gas Mark 7.
  • Line a 12-hole muffin tin with paper cases. This recipe makes 12–14 muffins, so you may need a second tin or bake in batches.
  • Mix the dry ingredients:
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, bicarb, salt, and chocolate chips.
  • Mix the wet ingredients:
  • In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, sour cream (or yogurt), oil, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Combine:
  • Pour the wet mix into the dry. Fold gently with a spatula until just combined — the batter will be thick and sticky. Don’t overmix!
  • Spoon into cases:
  • Fill each case to the top for that bakery-style rise.
  • Bake:
  • Bake at 220°C (fan 200°C) for 5 minutes, then without opening the oven, lower the heat to 175°C (fan 155°C) and bake for 15–16 more minutes, or until a skewer comes out clean.
  • Cool in the tin for 10 mins, then transfer to a wire rack.
Allergy Info: Contains gluten, eggs, milk, and may contain soy (from chocolate).
