How do they work?
Nuance glasses use tiny directional microphones positioned in the front of the glasses, with beamforming
technology to focus on speech in front of you while filtering out background noise
The processed sound is then played through open-ear mini speakers situated in the arms of the glasses
just above your ears, so others around you won’t hear it
They work seamlessly with an App on your phone, or with a remote control, enabling you to make adjustments on the go!

How are they powered?

They come with a charging pad which you simply place the glasses on top of. They are powered by a non-removable
lithium-ion battery

Come See Our Audiologist
We recommend arranging an appointment with our Audiologist in Truro to see if the Nuance Glasses are suitable for you
We would recommend booking in for a Basic Hearing Test which costs £35
A Basic Hearing test will allow our Audiologist to check for the following:
✓
Wax Blockages can cause a mild to moderate hearing impairment which is resolvable with wax removal treatment
Often people do not realise their ears are blocked with wax and experience no other symptoms other than
difficulty in hearing
So you may not need them!
✓
Otoscopy allows our Audiologist to check the health of your ear canal and ear drum
There may be something more going on, which requires further investigation and treatment,
which may result in an onward medical referral to your GP or ENT
✓
The Pure Tone Audiogram will determine if your hearing loss will be met with the Nuance Audio Glasses
In other words, are they suitable for your loss?
The Pure Tone Audiogram may reveal the need for further investigation from ENT
✓
We will go through your results with you and discuss whether the Nuance Glasses are suitable for you
We will also give you a live demonstration of the glasses and the App so you
feel comfortable and confident when you leave us with your brand new glasses!
✓
We are able to offer ongoing care and support for your ears
We would like to invite you to come and see our Audiologist for a Hearing Health Check every 12 months
This is a complimentary 15 minute consultation whereby our Audiologist can check the health of your ear canals and
ear drums, and carry out a hearing screen to determine if your hearing prescription has changed

Bone Conduction Glasses with in-built hearing aids
Bruckhoff have patented a bone conduction hearing aid which is integrated into the arms of a pair of glasses. They have cleverly combined a discreet conductive hearing aid and optical solution into an all in one system. You can read more about this system here
This is not an over the counter device. It is a conductive hearing aid attached to the arm of your glasses. You will therefore need to see our Audiologist who can prescribe this device.
They have wind noise suppression, layered noise reduction, optional programmes, volume control, telecoil, and audio input.
Almost all frames are suitable for the this hearing aids to be mounted on the arm of the glasses. If you prefer a metal frame, the width of the arm needs to be a minimum of 1mm, however not a porous material such as aluminium. Titanium frames have to be sandblasted on the interior side of the frame, therefore a colour change is possible. Plastic frames must have a metal core, a minimum of 1mm width for mounting the hearing aid. Spectacle arms with a larger diameter are preferred, as these apply higher pressure on the mastoid portion of the temporal bone, which is important to ensure the best fit and most effective productive performance.
