Welcome To Truro
Cornwall's county town and sole city. Famous for its ancient, cobbled and narrow streets with a range of stunning architecture featuring Gothic and Georgian styles. Central to the city centre is the Victorian Cathedral whilst all around it are a selection
of independent shops, cafe's and restaurants
Our shop location means we are at the very heart of the Truro and Kenwyn Neighbourhood Plan. An initiative which seeks to open up access to amenities, to
the public and also encourage the use of multi-functional facilities. It aims to meet
the needs, hopes and aspirations of local people. As such we are excited to watch the town blossom and grow around us.

Who will you meet upon your arrival?
Dave Wynter |
Practice Coordinator
As the Practice Coordinator, I manage the daily operations of the practice, ensuring smooth and efficient service for both patients and staff. My role encompasses a range of responsibilities, including scheduling appointments, handling phone calls and correspondence, maintaining patient records, and overseeing the billing process. I also take pride in ensuring that our tea and coffee service is always available, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for our patients Throughout my career, I've always prioritized the person in front of me. Whether it was as a bar manager serving a young family or as a teacher’s assistant supporting a student, I’ve consistently focused on providing attentive and compassionate service. I believe wholeheartedly in the philosophy that "the person in front of me comes first," and I approach each interaction with organization, empathy, and care Though my experience in healthcare is still relatively new, I've already witnessed the profound impact of improved communication with clients and their families—often resulting in immediate expressions of relief and joy, with some even breaking into spontaneous dances! These moments inspire me to continue contributing to the well-being of those I serve, and I look forward to supporting patients on their journey to improved hearing In my spare time, I have a strong passion for sports, which has evolved over the years from active participation to more of a spectator role. While I no longer play as much, I continue to enjoy watching sports and supporting my stepson in his athletic pursuits. Cricket was my primary sport, and although golf has not quite replaced it, I still enjoy the occasional round—weather permitting, of course. I have been a dedicated supporter of Truro City Football Club for many years, including attending their historic FA Cup First Round tie against Charlton Athletic FC In addition to sports, I am an avid card and board game enthusiast, often spending time with friends over a friendly match. On special occasions, such as birthdays, we enjoy challenging ourselves with an escape room experience |
Meet Your Hearing Specialist
Kara Butterworth |
CEO, Audiologist
I am a fully qualified Audiologist and Hearing Therapist with over twenty years experience in the industry, both within the NHS and privately. I specialise in Adults with Learning Disabilities, Tinnitus and Rehabilitation. I have run departments, implemented services, worked alongside ENT and taught on the Bsc and Msc degrees during my career. With my background in hearing rehabilitation, combined with my many years of experience as an audiologist, you can rest assured you are in the best hands Customer care is at the very core of everything I do. I am experienced in providing rehabilitation, counselling and effective management of hearing conditions including tinnitus. I have experience in fitting technology from every hearing aid provider. In every consultation, I take the time to walk my patients through all the test results and go through all the management options. One question I frequently ask my patients who are considering hearing aids is "What is on your wish list?" This is such an important question for me, in order to not only make a recommendation based on your prescription, but to also marry this up with what is so very important to you My aim is to facilitate reconnecting my customers with their loved ones through the joy of hearing. Communication is so very important, and the effects of hearing loss can cut across lives. I once had a patient tell me: "I have my life back, and that means everything!" This is why I strive to deliver excellent care and offer the best solutions for my customers In my spare time I love to read anything from a good crime thriller, to fantasy or a good old romcom! I I'm very much a home bunny, and enjoy curling up on the sofa with a good movie. I love to take walks along the beach, and listen to the sound of the sea. I love to travel, my favourite place being Florida. I'm a Disney and Universal Nerd and love the magic when entering the parks. Connect with Kara Butterworth on LinkedIn here. |

My arm was certainly twisted, the day the professional photographer arrived, where I had to play the part of the "patient" Needless to say I would much rather be behind the camera than in front of it! In my spare time I enjoy riding my motorcycle and exploring this great county. I am an amateur photographer/videographer and use those images and videos within my work |
Meet Your Trainee Hearing Specialist
Lorrie Nader-Sepahi |
Trainee Audiologist
After taking a gap decade, which included working in Hollywood on various film and TV productions and helping run a luxury yacht charter company where I developed a roster of household name clients including Rod Stewart, Diana Ross and Eddie Murphy, for some crazy reason I came back home to England to continue my education. Fast forward a few years later with a Cambridge English degree and a Masters degree in Playwriting, I became an award-winning writer-producer-director of theatre and film specialising in new writing for which the Writers Guild of Great Britain presented me with one of their inaugural awards for my exceptional encouragement of new writing in the United Kingdom. I stepped back from producing to focus on my first novel which was published by Faber under a pen name and described by The Times as "a total wow of a debut" and selected by the Financial Times as a crime novel of the year. I am currently working on my fourth novel, The First Detective, an adaptation of one of my screenplays. In my new role as trainee audiologist here at K&M Hearing Solutions I am hoping to mix all my decades of creative experience with the science to come up with the very best solutions for my client's hearing loss. I have always been interested in audiology as my mother and many of her siblings experienced profound hearing loss throughout their lives. The psychology behind our acceptance of hearing loss is something that has always interested me, particularly in regard to how it often results in our withdrawal from society - something I myself experienced when I was unable to go to friends' book launches and social events as I was unable to hear the person directly in front of me if there was any form of background noise. I am glad to say I am now a hearing aid wearer, in both ears. Currently, I'm wearing the Starkey AI Edge+ and am very much looking forward to the next book launch! I am hoping to set up a crime book club with well-known guest writers in Truro sometime later this year, so get in touch with me if that's something you'd like to join. |
